Safety is everyone's responsibility!

Did you know? A tram weighs the equivalent of 30 rhinoceroses!
Whether on foot, bike, motorcycle, scooter or car, it’s important to stay alert. Here's a quick reminder of the basic rules for sharing the road.

Always stay alert near tram tracks.

Keep your eyes and ears open.

Trams are heavy and quiet, so be extra cautious at tram stations. This is especially important when listening to music, wearing a hood, or using your mobile phone.

In a car or on a bike, always stop at red lights.

Always obey traffic lights.

Signs and traffic lights regulate the intersections where trams pass. Follow them just like any other rules of the road.

On foot, always yield to the tram.

On foot, always yield to the tram.

Did you know that at 30 km/h, it takes a tram 40 meters to stop? And a tram can't swerve around an obstacle! That's why pedestrians must always yield to trams, no exceptions.

Before crossing, always look both ways.

Remember, one tram can hide another.

Signs and traffic lights regulate the intersections where trams pass. Follow them just like any other rules of the road.
