Housed in the former Logis des Gouverneurs, in the château of William the Conqueror, the Museum of Normandy tells the story of the region, from prehistory to the present day. Explore this medieval building on a self-guided tour and enjoy a rich program of activities.  From the 400 m² exhibition hall, you can see the ramparts, an underground passage, and the vestiges of a forge and a 16th-century house.

Located near the marina, Caen's library—named after the French philosopher and politician Alexis de Tocqueville—is a haven for readers. This architectural gem, crafted from glass and steel in the shape of a St. Andrew’s cross, was designed by Rem Koolhaas, winner of the Pritzker Prize, often referred to as the Nobel Prize of Architecture.
